Each gated residential quarters has several entrances. The gates of entrances let in people who live or work there, while exclude others.

All gates are electronic gates. Only people who have access cards can go through the gates, and only cars whose license plate numbers are registered to the security system can be let in. If other people want to go in, they have to register at the guard’s room at the entrance. However, sometimes, guards may leave their gatehouses, which could cause late arrivals for riders.

What’s more, while almost all residential quarters are managed by property service companies, they have the rights to make safety regulations, and thus regulations are different from quarter to quarter. Electric motors are not allowed to go in by some of the property service companies in Gaoxin District.

My last order was eight litres of mineral water. I was not allowed to ride my electric motor into this residential quarter, but the user who ordered the water asked me to deliver the water to his door, so I had to carry it for about a kilometer on foot.
