After the adaption period, many riders will no longer follow the navigation provided by Meituan system. This is because there are often huge gap between the routes provided by Meituan and the actual routes.
The system can calculate the walking distance automatically, however, the distance given by the system is likely to conflict with the actual condition. Take the gated residential quarter, Junyihuating as an example, if I want to go to building No.1, I’d better go through the southwest gate; if I want to go to building No.2, No.3 or No.4, I’d better go through the south gate; if I want to go to building No.5 or No.6, I’d better go through the east gate; if I want to go to building No.7, I’d better go through the northeast gate; and if I want to go to building No.8 or No.9, I’d better go through the north gate.
If I receive an order which requires me to go to the building No.5, but the east gate is not allowed to enter, then I have to enter through the north gate. However, this will take 5 more minutes to walk uphill.
Additionally, if the number of floors the user who order takeaways lives on is big, I should also take into account the time that I have to wait for elevators in the morning and evening rush hours.
